A boundary condition then appears in MIKE 21 FM editor every time a series of cells with such values are identified. Open boundaries are automatically identified by cells along the borders, where lower elevations than the ‘Land value’ are applied. dfs2 file can be viewed and edited when opening the file in the Grid Editor, in the menu Edit \ Items… The bathymetry file below on the left, where cells with ‘Land value’ are shown in red, would therefore appear in MIKE 21 FM as shown on the right (buildings excluded from the domain). This may for instance apply to a file where buildings have been excluded from the simulation by applying this ‘Land value’ to the corresponding cells. When using a rectangular bathymetry file, MIKE 21 FM interprets the rectangular grid as a mesh, where all cells with value above or equal to the ‘Land value’ are excluded from the mesh. General: How do I set-up boundary conditions in MIKE 21 FM, when using a rectangular bathymetry file? Answer:Īs from Release 2019, MIKE 21 FM can use either a mesh file or a rectangular bathymetry file (.dfs2 file) as input domain.
